Need to get fabrics? No need to go far. There is a Gulati's in Wangsa Maju, along Jalan Wangsa Delima, facing Section 6. You cant miss it - green and loud. Check it out. There is also another outlet inside Carrefour although it is not Gulati's.
I stumbled upon this couple recently. They were at a traffic light heading into Air Panas. Look at how the wife, seated pillon, is dressed. She wore a reflector vest to bring attention to the fact that the vehicle is one specially made for the handicapped. If only everyone is just as conscientious and are ethical on the road, both in mannerism and obeying the rules, then we would have less accidents. Kudos to the unnamed couple!
If you are a user of Amway products of distributor looking for a nearer alternative, the direct selling giant has established an office at Wangsa Maju at 34N-0-3, Jalan Wangsa Delima 6,KLSC Section 5, Wangsa Maju.
Folks, free meals are over! Wangsa Walk now charges for parking, going by the hour. The only place that does not charge for parking is Carrefour. When Wangsa Walk opened several months back, parking was free. So, people living along the area can expect some people to park by the roadside and walking to Wangsa Walk to escape from paying the fee.
Okay, you flers who have not paid your zakat. There is a new zakat (tithes) collection centre in Wangsa Link area. Dont need to wait for Puasa month for zakat counters to be set up. There is on right here, although on week days it can be quite tough to find parking. Anyway, it is long the same stretch in the KLSC area facing Wangsa Maju Section 6. Pay up, guys!
If you have relatives or friends visiting you in Wangsa Maju area and are looking for accommodation, there is a new hotel which opened at a shoplot along the Rampai Business Park. How much the rates are, you will have to find out yourself.
The yellow boxed area is a highly dangerous area with several accidents resulting from cars and buses coming out of the factory and perpendicular traffic. Motorists (such as the motorcylist at right) have become casualty of their own ignorance. Be careful when using this road! This is a very dangerous area in front of the Selangor Pewter factory. As you can see, the bike at the right is already a casualty of a car emerging from the factory. If you are using this road (Jalan Perusahaan 4) as a bypass, drive slowly. If you are in Selangor Pewter premises, coming out, go slow. Speed demons crossing this stretch have paid dearly with their limbs. I hope City Hall will be wise enough to paint a yellow box at this junction or at least have yellow bars to inform motorists to slow down as they approach the factory entrance/exit before someone gets killed. Tour buses and factory vehicles come out unannounced. Drive slowly when on this road.
The row of shops that comprised fruit stalls beside the Taman Seri Rampai lake has been removed and hoardings have just come up. There are a few shops that have yet to move. According to sources, new blocks of commercial buildings are coming up. One begins to wonder how will the neighbouring roads and the main Jalan Genting Kelang be able to contain such huge rise in traffic. Has City Hall given thought to this?
THIS is one stretch of the Duke highway which can be extremely dangerous if you are speeding. It is located at the Setiawangsa access of the highway, going downhill and turns almost 360 degrees (above) in a an almost U-turn and then a left swerve of 90 degrees (below). Drive slow along this stretch as I have seen people pay dearly for their folly, including bodywork and paintjob.
