More Wheels Stolen??

We have just been alerted to another case of stolen wheels. This comment came from an anonymous reader to our earlier posting on this. This writer wrote:

There were 2 reported cases of wheel theft at Jalan Seri Wangsa, the road leading to Villa Wangsamas, the new condo between Rampai Court & Carre4, off from main road Jln 34/26. The culprit came at night to steal the wheels from the cars parked outside the condo. Now, the condo security guard were also directed to round the area as well.

In case you do not know where Villa Wangsamas is, its near the junction that takes you to Setiawangsa, where the old TV3 academy used to be at the hilltop. This road is especially deserted at nights so we advise users who are walking or riding bikes to be extremely alert for strangers as well.

In the case of the missing wheels, I am starting a new classification category called Crime Alert. Please give your feedback if you know of crime in Wangsa Maju, not just Section 1-10but also the vicinity, including Taman Danau Kota, Gombak 3-5th Mile, Setapak Garden, etc. which are in P116 constituency.

Thank you.

You cant be serious! Hermit Crabs in Air Panas?

Hermit crabs are sea creatures. Take them out of the brine, they die. They can live, but at the most, a few days.

Yet, 70km from the nearest sea breeze, this man was seen selling hermit crabs by the tupperwares. For a couple of ringgit, he promises those who are stupid enough to listen to him that these sea creatures can grow to be quite big.

He had more than 30 tupperwares containing pretty large shelled hermit crabs. And he was seen at the Air Panas wet market recently. Wonder how many gullible people actually purchased these sea creatures.

Car Wheel Thieves Alert!

Latest Update: April 19

This piece of news was taken from the NST:

Suspended Lance Corporal suspected to be car thief!

KUALA LUMPUR: Suspended from work for drug-related offences, a lance corporal supplemented his income with a string of wayside robberies in Setapak and Wangsa Maju.

His robbery spree came to an end on Thursday when the policeman and an accomplice were arrested by Sentul policemen on crime prevention rounds in Taman Sri Rampai.

The suspects, both aged 25, were nabbed about 11.30pm after they were found with a knife and a pair of handcuffs when searched by the police.

A motorcycle, which had been reported stolen in Ampang last year, was also seized from them.

The men have been remanded until Tuesday to facilitate investigations.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Pagan said at least five cases of wayside robberies in the Setapak and Wangsa Maju area had been solved with the duo's arrest.

The robbers normally approached their victims and identified themselves as policemen before robbing them.

FILE PICTURE

Thanks to a reader, this blog has been informed that there are wheel stealers near the LRT station at Section 2. Several motorists who left their cars there came back from work to find the wheels of their cars missing.

Can we hope that the LRT operators beef up the security in the area? Already, there are CCTV cameras in Section 2. How about the LRT operator mounting some from the LRT beams to keep an eye on the cars of your customers? This is good customer service and will encourage more to take your LRT to work instead.

There have also been several car thefts in Taman Seri Rampai as well, as we have been informed. If you have any notifications to tell us, please write to us or put your commen here. let's work together for the security of Wangsa Maju P116!

Tolong Kawan, Bagi Sikit Ler

This couple was spotted almost weekly at the Toto Shop in Taman Desa Setapak. The lady, holding a piece of paper, asks for donation for some cause. A donation box is nearby, watched by the male counterpart. Who are they or where the money is going, it is unclear. Whether they get something from the punters, one wonders, but they have been there for weeks already. Wouldn't it be easier to approach the MIC for funding?

Prawn Fishing In Genting Kelang

This blogger was told that the operators of CenterMart at Genting Kelang are looking for ways to attract shoppers to the multiconcept shopping mall and one of the ways, including hosting a fun-fair, is to have prawn fishing in its grounds (see picture). The announcement has been made in the form of banners too. So, intrepid anglers, you might want to quench your thirst in this recreational past time activity which was popular in the 90s.

Crazy Bus Driver Again!

Everyone who uses the lane parallel to Jalan Genting Kelang knows very well that the traffic is one way and comes opposite to that of Jalan Genting Kelang.

But because of the jams on Jalan Genting Kelang, bikers zip pass on this lane, breaking the law and endangering lives of the people using the stretch, mostly pensioners and other pedestrians, for the morning cup of coffee at several restaurants there. Of late, the public buses have also thrown their weight around and use these lanes just to get to their destination.

As can be seen in these pictures, the conductor even dares to grin as is posing for his picture to be taken. I wonder what Metrobus is doing to control their errant drivers illegally using the slip roads as well as the parallel lane beside Jalan Genting Kelang. And what are the JPJ and traffic police doing about these daily happenings?

Wadey Seller In Carrefour?

I dont believe it - see this wadey seller? He is a staff of Carrefour plying this business in the shopping complex. Carrefour has become quite innovative in its approach to business. there are now wooden benches in the main aisle for shoppers to sit. I think this is also quite innovative. The manager must be commended, of course. Now, with a playground, a towfoofaa man, maybe even some goreng pisang makcik, the kampung scene will be completed. You know what they say about being able to take someone out of the kampung and not the kampung out of them?

I think rather than waste money on these frivolities, Carrefour would do well cutting its prices than shops in its vicinity. Already I can find one outlet selling stuff cheaper than it. Oh, please check on your flyer distributor, ok? My mailbox has just been cluttered by at least a dozen of the same promotional flyer. So have my neighbours. Why chuck garbage into our mailboxes when only one will do? Trying to give describe junk mail better izzit?

Mind Your Steps At Centermart

Mind these!

If you are visiting Centremart in Genting Kelang, don't be too excited over your shopping or what you might find there cheap. Be careful and look where youu are going.

Apparently the owners did not pay good attention to safety where the building joints the other end. Look at the picture and you will get my drift. These steps are not so well indicated under the dimly-lit interior and if your kids are running around, they might find themselve tmbling all over if they miss this step. Older people, too, should be careful.

Tell your friends, will you?

Smelly Towfoo At Sri Rampai Pasar Malam

If you visit the Taman Seri Rampai night market on Thursdays and smell a rat - or rather, smell shit - be comforted to know that you have not stepped on human excrement nor are near a sewage pond.

You are in the vicinity of a Chow Tow Foo or Smelly Tow Foo vendor. I wont tell you where this fella is located, so you will have to sniff him down. For clues, I have provided his pictures. And if you can stand the smell, maybe you would also like to stomach the fermented beancurd fried. And if he asks where you learnt about him, tell him you read him here first.
