Good Greens Grocer
If you go to Genting Kelang Market, there is one stall by the side which itemises the prices of its greens and other stuff. I thought it was kind of thoughtful of the green grocer and his/her dilgence should be widely emulated. While everywhere prices are displayed, small wet markets are still getting away with not displaying price tags of any kind. As a result, consumers like you and I are disadvantaged, not knowing if we are being cheated or not.

You Don't Have To Go To China For Jades
You heard right - you don't have to go to China to buy jades or any Chinese stuff. Just visit the Genting Kelang market and chances are you might come across this chap at the entrance, trading his ware on the tarred road. Feng shui stuff, ornaments and almost anything. He looks local and sounds local, and could be a local.

Are These Fruits Eatable?
I was at a local supermarket recently when I stumbled upon this bag of goodies in a basket - fruits of various kinds lumped and sold by the bag.
Some of the fruits did not look so fresh and tempting, but the prices were too good not to take a second glance.
Are they fit for human consumption or are they for feeding pets? Would appreciate if someone tell me.

Help, Migrants Taking Over Our Hawker Stalls!
No, this woman is not Chinese!
If you are a frequent eater at the many restaurants and stalls in and around Wangsa Maju, you will by now notice that most of the helps are foreigners.
In some, especially those in Taman Desa Setapak, even the food handlers are foreigners. What are we doing to ourselves frequenting these stalls anyway? Where are the owners? Are they not interested in the business, quality and all, that they allow foreigners to take over from them?
Why should you and me risk ourselves eating at places where people whose health conditions are virtually unknown to serve us food?
Updated - March 22:
Following subsequent comments, I wish to state that the stalls in question are those with unkempt foreign helps (as one commenter has wisely pointed out). As consumers, we have no way of determining the health status of these helps, and relying on our senses, sound and sight, will not be foolproof - although in being human, humane and self-health-conscious first, we may sometimes have to act and err on the side of caution.
Who should be blamed here? The licensing authorities? The opportunistic bosses who use their maids as food handlers?

Highways Everywhere, But Jams Still As Bad
Forgive me for bitching - are we getting the better of jams? The DUKE highway opened early this year and is now charging for use. But are the jams getting lesser and are you actually get from point A to point B faster?
I took these snaps of the condition at Jalan Sentul one morning, barely 100 metres off the Duke Highway exit and entry into Sentul/Karak highway. Between 6:30am to 9:30am, you can bet your shrinking ringgit that you will hit the jam smack on the nose. Highways? Bah!

Sale at CentreMart
If you are looking for cheap clothes in these hard times, visit Centremart at Jalan Genting Kelang. There is a sale ongoing now with children's attire going as cheap as RM5 and towels down to RM1. The quality is nothing to shout about but still they are usable. But if you are fussy, then you can save up for other sales which should be coming soon.

Bandaraya Truck Breaking The Law
If you are wondering why some people break the law so easily, you can stop doing so now. Just look at this picture - that's a bandaraya truck you are looking at. It is parked at the Danau Kota Midnight Bazaar site opposite Ganda Dua restaurant.
Look now at the wheels. There is a yellow line and you think it should park there? No wonder other motorists are following suit.
